Sleep Out Brunswick Great Success — Thank you!
Wow! What a Great Event!
Sleep Out Brunswick was an amazing success thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and supporters. We raised more than $50,000 with nearly 240 supporters. The Poverty Simulation gave 45 attendees the experience of what it could feel like to be without a home and in poverty, and nearly 25 people slept out.
Here is some of the great media coverage we received:

Where Did You Sleep Last Night?
By Beth Klare, The Coastal Buzz

Hagood Hope for Children Foundation Makes Donation
Brunswick Partnership for Housing has received a $15,000 donation from Hagood Hope for Children, the Hagood Homes foundation. “Brunswick Partnership for Housing is an ideal fit for the mission of Hagood Hope for Children,” Patrick Kennedy, Hagood CEO said. “We have committed our lives to housing. Home is where we live, raise families, build a life … We’re happy to give back in a way that can give a family a permanent place they can call home.”
“Our community is so generous, Sally Learned, BPH Executive Director said. “Through this gift we’re able to move closer to paying off the mortgage for our building.”

Housing Need In Brunswick County

26% of Brunswick County residents are cost burdened. That’s 15,656 households.
49% of renters have difficulty affording their homes. That’s 4,203 households.
23% of homeowners have difficulty affording their homes. That’s 11,453 households.
Thank you … Build Hope a Success
Thanks to the generosity of our community, the Build Hope campaign is a success, raising more that $33,000 to meet the $25,000 challenge grant from Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southport. While we still have less that $20,000 left to retire the mortgage on the Felton-Russell House, we are well on our way to acheive that goal. Providing transitional housing for homeless in need is not possible without your continued support. Please donate today.
